  Why Use CRS Roof Consultants?

Because Most Commercial Roof System Failures Begin at Installation.

Built-Up Roof Systems: Membrane Layers at Installation FIGURE I

The basic components of a roof system start at the substrate (plywood deck). Substrates range in materials from light-weight concrete to the more familiar plywood deck. Whether talking about Single-Ply (SPRI) or Built-Up Roof (BUR) systems, the type of deck material in place determines Best Practices for attaching waterproof systems to the deck.

NOTE: Best Practice techniques are based on Industry Standards!

More on the Elements of a Single-Ply (SPY) Roof System here:

The Inter-Ply Felts illustrated in (Figure I - green dot) are bound together as a single layer of asphalt and porous felt. This is a manufacturing process where the felts are interwoven during installation to create the roof Membrane (Figure II).

The implementation of ISO Standards ( International Organization for Standardization ) are rare in roofing because the industry is dominated by much smaller companies where such management techniques are less known. Instead, roofers tend to use Generally Accepted Roofing Practices (GARP).

Independent Roof Consultants fill this void. As the on-site expert representing Property Owners and Operators, the roofing proficiency of Independent Consultants helps to assure Best Practice Roofing Techniques are employed by roofing contractors.
